Medeshamstede Academy

About

Medeshamstede Academy is an all through Academy for 117 pupils, aged 4 to 16.  All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for communication and interaction with a diagnosis of Autism as their main presenting need.  Pupils may have associated difficulties, within the areas of:

  • Cognition and learning
  • Sensory and physical needs

Most of our pupils live within the City of Peterborough and some are from Cambridgeshire and other neighbouring counties.

Our academy provides a calm, safe and supportive environment in which differences are understood, allowing pupils to thrive and succeed.

We have high aspirations for our pupils.  We prioritise working in partnership with parents, carers, therapists and other professionals.  This ensures that the needs of the individual and their families are effectively met, so that pupils achieve the best possible outcomes.  Our dedicated and experienced staff skilfully plan learning provision which is personalised, engaging, and motivating; often using pupils' interests.

Principal Miss C Smith

The Medeshamstede Academy is sponsored by the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) who currently has 37 open academies educating over 18,000 pupils across seven local authority areas including Nottingham City, Nottinghamshire, Leicester City, West Northamptonshire, North Northamptonshire, Peterborough and Lincolnshire.
