Books Donated for Christmas
Mr Sludds recently organised for us to work with the Peterborough Literacy Trust, as part of an initiative to improve our school’s reading for pleasure.
Today, he met with staff from the Peterborough Literacy Trust, who have given us lots of help and ideas around supporting reading, both at home and in school. Watch this space for news about the implementation of these ideas, in the new year!
We were also delighted to handover a box full of the kind book donations, that parents and staff have given, following their plea for books for children this Christmas.
You may remember, the National Literacy Trust in Peterborough has promised to match up to 1,000 donations to its annual book gifting scheme, to give children across the city the gift of reading.
All books collected will be shared via local foodbanks, where families who use the foodbank service will be able to pick and wrap one to take home and give to their child for Christmas.
Thank you to everyone who donated a new book to go to this worthy cause.
